Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. We are very excited about the upcoming year. We believe education is a joint partnership between school, parents, and the community. Our learning community will strive to meet the needs of all students, while providing quality education with engaging instruction and high expectations. Van has had a tradition of success and will continue to build on that tradition.

Many changes have taken place in education. With those changes, Van ISD is committed to meeting the new challenges facing our students. This year, you will hear about new, more rigorous, state assessments (STAAR) being implemented with our incoming ninth graders. Our incoming high school students will be expected to pass a series of End-of-Course tests in core subject areas. Our teachers are prepared to help our students meet these new obstacles.
